MFT Wednesday Stamp Club

Hello!  It's Wednesday Friday, and that means it's time for another fun sketch challenge from MFT!  Here's a look at the sketch:

I'm just a wee bit late getting this post up on the old blog-oh.  My to-do list was waaaay too long.  But I'm here now!

So, seeing how I'm a "be true to the sketch" kind of gal, I used the new Blueprints 7 Die-namics set for this one.

I paired up these fabulous elements with LJD Textile Backgrounds and started by stamping the herringbone pattern in Black Licorice Ink on Steel Grey Card Stock.  I added an argyle stripe across the top of the Pink Lemonade square and added a sentiment from WBD Stylish Friends in the speech bubble.

I used the little half moon die piece to cut out a little notch in both bottom layers of the card.

Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for a all the sketch challenge details and find out how you can win a fun prize!

Verve Divas Inspiration Hop {September}

Welcome to Verve's September Diva Inspirations Hop! It's the 5th of the month and that means it's time for the Verve Divas to breathe new life into some much-loved stamps and dies. And there's a PRIZE up for grabs, so be sure to leave a little shout out in the comment section of each blog as you hop about to be entered in a drawing for a $30 gift voucher to Verve Stamps! Check out all the details about prizes and this month's sale over at the Verve Blog.

If you are following the hop, then you have arrived here from seeing the ever so fabulous, Betty.

It's back to school season, so I think I'll start stocking up on teacher cards for the year.  With 3 kids in elementary school, these sure come in handy for holidays and appreciation weeks.  I inked up Teachers Count for this card.

I started with some of this fantastic Cut & Paste "Presh" 6x6 paper from My Mind's Eye and then on the blue gradient sheet I made my own numbered background paper with the little numbers image from the set.  The quotation is stamped in Steel Grey ink and I cut it out with the Rounded Rectangle Die.  AND how cute is this apple?  I thought it made a cute little accent next to this fabulous quotation.  I used a just a couple of pennants from the Pennant Trim Die along the side and the layout is Jen Shults' DS115.

There is much more to see from the other Verve Divas, so be sure to stop by and see what Sarah has whipped up for you today - she is next on the hop.

And just in case you missed a Diva, here is the hop list so you can catch up:

MFT New Product Tour

Hello and welcome to the August edition of MFT's New Product Tour!  The wait is over and all of the new products we've been showcasing this week are now available in the MFT Boutique!

My family just finished our first week of school, so I had made each kiddo a little card to celebrate the new school year.  I'm featuring Laina Lamb Designs new set, LLD Document It - School Days along with the coordinating LLD Accent It - School Days Die-namics.

This card is for my oldest.  It's a special year - her last year in elementary school.

I have a lot of elements on this card using the LLD Accent It - School Days Die-namics.  I started by cutting out the light bulb and the banner in Smooth White Card Stock and then I used the coordinating stamps from LLD Document It - School Days.  The light bulb is Lemon Drop Ink and Steel Grey Ink; and then the banner is Blu Raspberry Ink.

I cut out the LLD Border It - Numbers Die-namics in Steel Grey Card Stock and then added the little accents to show her 5th grade awesomeness.

My middle child is in 2nd grade this year and he loves school (and recess).

I cut out a LLD Insert It - 3x4 Notepad Die-namics in Smooth White Card Stock and then stamped the lined paper image from LLD Journal It - Take Note in Steel Grey Card Stock.  I added a row of boys and girls in Sour Apple Ink and then added the Electric Red A+ accent.

My baby girl is in Kindergarten this year and would much rather be home with me, poor girl.  I think she's realizing school is pretty fun and she is more and more excited to go each morning.  I may have spoiled her a bit last year with lots of mommy dates to Starbucks.  haha!

I created a fun background using the little boy and girl images from LLD Document It - School Days.  I stamped them repeatedly in Black Licorice Ink on Steel Grey Card Stock and then popped the layer up over some Berrylicious Card Stock.  I used the same background technique with some of the word stamps from the set as well, stamping them in Gumdrop Green Ink on Sour Apple Card Stock.  I don't know why I haven't thought of that before - I love it!  Finally, I added the little apple image along with the banner die from LLD Accent It - School Days Die-namics.
