First up today is an amazing set called Birds of a Feather, illustrated by Nancy McKinney for the Whimsical Wishes line.  I just adore her images!  This set has 17 images and sentiments that can take on very different looks, from Shabby Chic to Clean & Simple.
For my card I used Jen's Sketch For You to Try for June and used the Birds & Branch Dies to create the little strip along the bottom.  The Birds & Branch Die set was specifically designed to coordinate with Birds of a Feather and I love the different looks you can achieve with the different bird images.  I chose to use a more silhouetted feel for the birds, but added a little rhinstone for their eyes.  The ornate birdcage is stamped in Dark Brown Colorbox Fluid Chalk Ink and I colored the heart in with a Copic (RV32).  The flowers are stamped in Deep Lagoon Colorbox Fluid Chalk Ink and I cut them out and added a little rhinestone center.  The bow was made with the Bow Easy and glued on the top of the cage with a glue dot.  The Stella & Rose collection of papers goes really well with this set - I used the Gertie paper pack for my card.

Here is the inside - I stamped it simply and added another cut out flower on the branch.

Next up is a new petite set illustrated by Nancy McKinney for the Moka Collection.  Meet Moka Justin!
I am loving this new Moka!  He's just perfect for tween boy birthdays.   I stamped this card simply and kept the layout free of ribbon and bling - you know boys.  I did add some stitching tho *wink*.  The layout is Taylors TESC141, which looks like it was made for a Moka!  I stamped Moka Justin in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored him with Copic markers.  The Seeing Stars Die set and the Star Border Die go so well with Moka Justin too!  I used the Seeing Stars Die to add the layered stars out of Lime Twist Fly a Kite paper and the 3 little stars at the bottom are from the inside of the Star Border Die.  I can't even tell you how excited I have to have stars dies!!

Here's a peek at the inside - just super simple and added the star frame from the Seeing Stars Die

Here are the Taylored Dies I used with today's projects:

The rest of the Baker's Dozen have lots more to show you!  Don't forget to leave comments along the way to increase your chances of winning a TE gift card!

Thanks for stopping by!

Are you ready for another super cute release from Taylored Expressions?!!?  The Baker's Dozen is showcasing two new stamp sets: In the Clouds and Life is a Circus along with, get this - 4 new Taylored Dies and a new Impression Plate!

If you are not familiar with Taylored Expressions stamps, they are made of deeply etched cling-mount rubber that you can place on an acrylic block.  All of the full size and petite stamps come on a full color image panel, which is 3-hole punched so the stamps can be stored easily in a TE Mini Binder Box.  Each Mini Binder Box fits up to 4 full-sized stamp sets.

First up for me is this darling set of 25 stamps called In the Clouds, illustrated by Nancy McKinney for the Whimsical Wishes line.

In the Clouds has a coordinating set of Taylored Dies called Blimps & Banners, which make cutting out these images a snap!  And you can get super creative and turn the blimps into submarines and rocket ships - isn't that clever?!!?  In my card I have used one of the blimp and banner dies for my main image and sentiment.  So super cute, don't you think?  I started by stamping the blimp in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it with Copic Markers.  The banner is also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black.  Did you notice the blue background?  All of those embossed clouds were made with TE's new Clouds Impression Plate, which is double sided to allow for the clouds to be arrange for both a horizontal card and a vertical card - it's 2 impression images for the price of one!  I used the vertical side of the impression plate for my background.  Another fun Taylored Die that goes perfectly with In the Clouds is the new Cloud Border Die - it's long enough to run the entire length of a standard A2 card and you can cut out multiple die cuts and layer them up!  I chose to use the Cloud Border Die as a standard border and just added it underneath my cardstock layer.  I added the Medium Scallop Border Die at the bottom, which really continues that puffy cloud look. You may recognize the little clouds on the image panel too - they are made with the Cloud Duo Die.  I added some Baker's Twine around the center of the card for a little extra punch and the layout is MOJO195.

In the Clouds is a perfect companion set to the It's a Banner Day 1 & It's a Banner Day 3 sets as well as the Cloudy Days background stamp.  Imagine the possiblities!

Up next is a new delightful set of 17 images illustrated by Doug Applegate for the Apple Doodle Ink line.
Life is a Circus is packed full of cute circus images and witty sentiments and this set is designed to create cards and projects with a single image or build up layers and create a fun circus scene!  I can see myself using this set for everyone - boys, girls, young, old - I just love it!!  For my card, I used 2 images - the clown and the juggling balls.  I stamped the clown in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored him with Copic Markers and I stamped the juggling balls in Colorbox Fluid Chalk inks: Warm Red, Yellow Ochre, Lime Pastel, and Pumpkin Spice.  Life is a Circus also has a coording Stars Die set that you can layer and arrange in endless ways!  I added more Baker's Twine and Crystal Twinkles for accent and the layout is Deconstructed Sketch 7.

Here are the Taylored Dies I used on today's projects:

The rest of the Baker's Dozen have more to show you today, so don't miss out - their projects are AMAZING!
Thanks for stopping by and see you back tomorrow for another fun day of TE peeks!

You Make My Heart Spin

Good morning!  I've had some major mojo going on the last couple days and I'm totally taking advantage of it.  I have a fun little card using Freeze the Moment from There She Goes for you this morning - I love this adorable set because the images can give you so many different looks.  I started with The Deconstructed Sketch 4 from Deconstructing Jen (she's got some MAD Copic skills - love her!).  I started by stamping this sweet girl in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored her with Copics.  I masked her and stamped the pinwheel over her hand and then stamped another pinwheel to pop up over the original.  Just a few rhinestones for some bling and it's done!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sweet Sunday Monday

Hi gang!  I'm finally here with my Sweet Sunday card for this week's sketch.  Woot!  If you'd like to play along, the challenge is in the post below, or you can click here for a new window.

My card is kind of sweet and simple today - I was itching to use this little tree from In the Park from Taylored Expressions and stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black.  I kept my Copic coloring simple and just used 3 colors - YG03, YG 17, and E47.  I cut out the tree and added some pink rhinestones in the branches for fruit or blossoms - or maybe it's a bling tree.  I could use one of those!  I can't remember the name of the papers, so if you know, please help me out, lol!  The cute little picket fence is the Picket Fence Border Die.

Have a wonderful Monday!
Karen

recipe -
stamps: in the park (taylored expressions)
paper: kraft, choice snow white (taylored expressions) cardstock, patterned paper unknown
ink: memento tuxedo black
accessories: pink rhinestones, copic markers, picket fence border die (taylored expressions)

Would you like a chance to win the Make A Splash stamp set? Here’s what you need to do- go to each of the Trendsetter’s Blogs and leave a comment on their Make A Splash Blog Hop Challenge post. This adorable car illustrated by Melyssa is great to make a fun, every day card for family and friends! The larger car featured in this mini set was sized so that it could also be used with Leah (who can be seen in the Freeze The Moment stamp set).

Vroom is a 3x4 set that includes a total of 6 stamps and will sell for $7.

Love, love, LOVE this little convertible - isn't it darling??  I stamped the car in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it with Copic markers and then cut it out and popped it up over some fabulous Lime Twist Fly a Kite paper.  I made the bow with my Bow Easy and then added a few Island Lagoon rhinestones in the corner.

These gorgeous tropical flowers were illustrated by Torico and will quickly become a favorite from your summer stamping collection! Use them to create beautiful custom designer paper, color in the line art images to use as a focal point for your project or pair them with a TSG sentiment stamp set for a card that can be given for any occasion.

Hibiscus is a 3x4 set that includes a total of 7 stamps and will sell for $7

These flowers are absolulely stunning and I wanted to make a clean and simple card that shows them off.  I used a sheet of Splash paper from Echo Park and just popped up the flowers over the swirly flourish on the paper.  Super fun and easy to make!  I stamped the flowers in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Copic markers.  The sentiment is from another TSG set called Garden of Life and I cut it out to make a little flag banner.  Just a few yellow pearls for some accent and it's done.  So cute!

Birthday Party Across the Miles

This is my second post today - please scroll down or click here for my Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

Good morning!  Today some of Taylor VanBruggen's friends are hosting a little birthday blog hop for her since we all can't be together to celebrate this gorgeous girl - but wouldn't that just be the best party ever, all of us stamping all night?  oooh!  Fab!

You should have come here from Lori Craig's blog, but if you didn't you might want to start this Fantasy Birthday Tour at the beginning on Jami Sibley's blog

We're giving Taylor virtual birthday gifts today and if money were not an object, I would give Taylor a relaxing time away at a spa, to be redeemed at any time.  Oooh, how fantastic!  With all the hard work Taylor puts into her wonderful company, she deserves to be pampered and doted on, right?

Happy birthday Taylor - I am so incredibly lucky to know you and you have such a beautiful spirit and are going to be the very best mom too!  Have a very blessed birthday and I'm wishing those blessings to grow through the year!

The card I sent Taylor is my Sweet Sunday card from a few hours ago, and since Taylor knows I'm a GIANT procrastinator, she should be getting it in her mailbox on Tuesday.  Sorry T!  I put some extra birthday wishes in there for you  :)

Next up is the fabulous Jodi Collins.

Please stop on over to Taylor's blog and wish her a very happy birthday - I know she would love all the birthday wishes.

Thanks for stopping by!

Today's theme is American Heartland and I'm so thrilled to show you these new sets!  First up is a set from the Apple Doodle Ink line called Green Acres, a set of 24 stamps that are sure to get you chuckling!  This set is perfect for those masculine cards as well as some friendly humor.

I see a lot of John Deere tractors in my neck of the woods, so I was instantly drawn to this little image.  I wanted to place it in a field, so I added 3 layers of cardstock I punched out with the Grass Border Punch and I sponged the blades of grass with some Memento Rich Cocoa ink. The tractor is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics.  I added little accents with the Cloud Duo and Scalloped Eyelet Border dies.

Did you happen to notice the embossed background?  It is made with the new Chicken Wire/Wood Grain Impression Plate.  These impression plates are double sided, so you get 2 choices of impressions for one price!  The plate is big enough to emboss a standard 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" sheet of cardstock and works fabulously with the Embossing Pad Kit.  I used my Big Shot and sandwiched my paper like this: bottom tab (not tab 1 or 2), cutting plate, Impressions Plate, cardstock, embossing pad kit, cutting plate.  Works like a dream!

The patterned papers are part of the Garden Variety collection by Cosmo Cricket and the layout is MOJO184.

Up next is another Apple Doodle Ink petite set, Uncle Sam - a set of 5 stamps featuring our favorite penguin.

My card is a take on Sweet Stop's SSS110 and I started by stamping the penguin in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored him with Copics.  I love his little sparkler and I don't remember the last time we used sparklers - I miss them!  I love 4th of July here - we always hang out at the park all day, playing games and grilling and then watch the city fireworks, crossing our fingers the kids don't cry. haha!

My darling daughter jumped in this month with a cute little project she made for her little sister.  It's a book about the farm with all the farm animals and the farmer.

Taylor has put together a Kids Summer Fun Pack, which is packed full of fun items, all for just $9.95!
  • 5 sheets of 8.5" x 11" cardstock
  • 10 sheets of patterned paper from the We R Memory Keepers Berrylicious collection
  • 10 Choice Snow White image panels
  • 10 white envelopes
  • 1 ring-bound chipboard book (5 pages)
  • 3 yards of ribbon
  • 1 sheet of alphabet and border stickers
  • Assorted round & apple brads
  • Assorted flat fruit slice embellishments

Avery did everything herself, I'm so proud of her!  She designed the pages and glued the paper onto the chipboard and even colored with my precious Copics!  She did such a fabulous job.  We had a funny moment as we were stamping together.  She was finishing up her farmer page and accidentally stamped the OH Crop sentiment upside down.  We both looked at each other and said, "OH Crop!!" at the same time.  LOVE her!

So she patched him up and now he's good as new!

Here are the dies I used on today's cards:
