Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek | Day 3

I have a HUGE post for you today - so much excitement for one little blog post, I'm just bursting at the seams here! It's day 3 of Taylored Expressions peeks and you'll be able to purchase everything from this release tomorrow at 8 AM Pacific, woohoo!

Today's post is extremely special because it is my daughter, Avery's, design team debut!  Taylor has put together a Tiny Chef team to help showcase Kid At Heart and a new kit just for kids!  The Kid's Valentine Card Kit is designed with kids in mind to make their very own Valentine's Day cards for classmates.  Each kit will make 20 cards and includes pre-cut cardstock and patterned paper, ribbon, rhinestones, bubble heart stickers, and envelopes.  How fun is that?

Aren't these little Valentines just the cutest?  Avery had so much fun making these for her friends and thought of every detail.  She's claimed the turtle as her very favorite, which I think is so clever with the rhinetones in the 'o's of the sentiment.  She's so excited about her Tiny Chef debut, she told her entire class and teacher all about it and they are probably checking this out right now - Hi guys!!

This little cupcake is my favorite - I adore the little heart sticker on top as a cherry and she put the rhinstones in the sentiment on this as well.  I'm just so happy for her!  You can see the entire team of Tiny Chefs on Taylor's blog, so please hop on over there and give these little stampers some love.

First up for me today is Kid at Heart, which is the same stamp set Avery used in her project - I am in love with this set from the TE line of stamps and I'm sure you'll fall in love with it the minute you see it too!

I used Sweet Love papers from Doodlebug Design and stamped these cute little love birds on Choice Snow White cardstock and then paper pieced them over the Toffee branch.   The frame was made by stamping the hearts frame in Warm Red and then cutting it out with the Take Note Die 3 and running it through the Big Shot again with a rectangle Nestabilties die.

I tied the little love birds tag onto the bow with some red Baker's Twine.

I've also created a little Valentine's treat as a teacher gift, which now as I'm writing this, have realized that Avery's teacher may be reading this - haha!  Surprise!!

I used the pizza box template, but scaled it down to fit 3" cards and envelopes.  The bow and heart pin are from the new Valentine Project Pantry Kit and the initials were designed and cut through my Silhouette.  Some pink pearls finish off the blossom Nestabilities die cut too - yum!

I made 6 cards and they all fit in the box, along with all the envelopes.

The papers are Be Mine from Echo Park and I added some clear rhinestones to the corners of the large scallop square Nestabilities die.  These papers really add such a different look to each card, love that!

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek | Day 2

Welcome back to Release Week Peeks for Taylored Expressions!  My favorite little Penguins are back as Penguin Petites sets - SWAK, Capture My Heart, and Will You Be Mine along with another Petite set, Wreath of Love, which has a coordinating Taylored Die (Seasonal Wreath) as well as a Basic Bow Die! 

I'm featuring Capture My Heart today - isn't he sweet?  I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored him in with Copics and the patterned papers and ribbon are from the new Valentine Project Pantry Kit, which features Be My Valentine paper from My Mind's Eye along with coordinating textured cardstock and embellishments.  I love it when everything is coordinated for me and I can grab a kit to make a quick card! 

Each Petite set is deeply etched cling mounted rubber, just like Taylored Expressions full sized sets, which allows for crisp, clean edges when you stamp.  Also, each image is die cut, so you have no need to cut out the images before you start stamping.  Easy peasy!

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek | Day 1

How can it be January 2011 already??  It's time to celebrate the New Year and Taylored Expressions is getting the party started with a HUGE release - yep, HUGE!  The Bakers Dozen is showcasing 2 new sets and 2 new dies today, which will be available in the TE store on Friday, January 7th - ready to get started?

First up for me this week is New Beginnings, which is a fantastic set created by Sankari and illustrated by Taylor - these girls are so uber talented!  You can use these beautiful images for graduates, promotions, new goals, or anyone who is starting a new chapter in their life journey and combine it with the sentiments from Rest and Renewal.  It's full of inspirational sentiments and images, which coordinate with our new Butterflies & Frame It Up Dies.

I stamped the frame in Toffee Fluid Chalk ink and then cut it out with the Frame It Up die and added a few Chocolate Pearls and love how elegantly it dresses up the frame.  The sentiment is stamped in Dark Brown Fluid Chalk ink.

I used the paper tole technique to make the flower pop.  The patterned papers are Fine & Dandy by My Mind's Eye.  I think this card would look really cute in a frame on my desk too :)

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 98

Good morning - It's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! Here is the deal: make a card with this layout and use the InLinkz button down at the very end of this post to enter your card. In my last post I had mentioned my daughter was out in the front yard playing in shorts and a light jacket - well, not so much as I'm typing this - it's a balmy 9 degrees F with fluffy snow everywhere.  All is right with the world again.

I'm so glad to be back stamping again - it was nice to have a little break, but I started to miss all the ink and paper cuts, lol!  I thought I'd go for a quick and simple card this week - yeah, right.  I bought these Marjolaine Woolies, from Basic Grey, and knew I wanted to use the tree for this sketch and I got the little owl punch for Christmas from a fabulous stamping friend, so he definitely needed to make it into the card.  That's easy - paper, felt stickers, owl.  DONE!  Nope.  This thing took me more than 4 hours to make because I kept fussing with it.

Rhinestones in the tree, rhinestones on the owl, rhinestones on the scallops, buttons in the corner, bow easy bow, sponging on the edges... and then when I was all finished, I had the brilliant idea to add the Thanks sentiment and totally screwed it up - dammmmmmit!!  After a little surgery and patch job, I finished and I have to say, I love it much more than I did before the surgery, so chalk one up to a happy little accident.
