For my card today, I used My Favorite Sentiments and the Guest DT Challenge Sketch for March.  I made this card for a dear friend who is starting up her own business, and she is truly an inspiration to me.  The road has been challenging, so I'm sure she'll appreciate this little token of incouragement. 

I stamped the sentiment in Black Licorice Ink on Whip Cream Card Stock and then cut it out with a Circle STAX Die-namics.

I layered it over a Open Scallop Doily Duo Die-namics in Black Licorice Card Stock and added it to the center of my card.

MFT Creative Challenge | Clean & Simple

The MFT Design Team Creative Challenge is a monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative side using a specific theme, product, or technique.

This month, we were challenged to create clean and simple projects - without the use of any pattern paper. 

I made a few clean & simple cards for you today - my first card uses a sentiment from Big Greetings

 

I let the sentiment do the talking here by stamping it repeatedly in different ink colors.  I started by stamping it at the top of the Sweet Tooth Card Stock square in Wild Cherry Ink and then without washing off the stamp, I inked it right up with some Lemon Drop Ink and stamped it underneath the Wild Cherry - it made a yummy orange!  Then I cleaned of the stamp and stamped it in straight up Lemon Drop Ink.  Next came Sour Apple Ink and I used the same process - I didn't wash off the stamp and then inked up some Sno Cone Ink and created the green-blue color.  Sno Cone ink is next and then Grape Jelly Ink at the bottom.

Don't those colors look so scrumptious?!  The card base is 4-1/4" square in Orange Fizz Card Stock and I used a corner rounder on the bottom corners of the base and the sentiment panel.  So fun!

My next card uses a sentiment from On the Line and I inked it up in Black Licorice Ink and stamped it on a thin strip of Sno Cone Card Stock.  I cut another thin strip of paper from a scrap of Orange Fizz Card Stock and placed it underneath the Sno Cone strip.  The background is embossed with the Polka Dot embossing folder from Quickutz.
 

I added a Stacking Stars Die-namics in Sweet Tooth Card Stock over the top of the strips and popped it up with some thin strips of foam tape.

I love how the colors from the paper strips show through the center of the star - it breaks up the white - love it!

My next card is a super easy card to mass produce and it also uses a sentiment from On the Line.

I started by stamping the polka dot background from Darling Dots in Sno Cone Ink on a sheet of 5-1/4" x 4" Sweet Tooth Card Stock, and then layered the sentiment right over the top of the dots in Black Licorice Ink.  I popped up the sheet with foam tape right over the card base.  This is one of my all time favorite clean looks - the monotone layer.  Yum!

I didn't have a chance to ink up this sweet little Pure Innocence Bunny Ears during Teaser week, so I was itching to stamp with her yesterday.

The card base is Sweet Tooth Card Stock and I used some foam tape to pop up another layer of Sweet Tooth over the base.  I really love the crisp look this gives a card - do you?  I stamped this sweet girl in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It Blending Card Stock and then colored her with Copic Markers.  I used a piece of Collectable-Memorable 6x6 paper from My Mind's Eye, which I cut out with a Circle STAX Die-namics.  I kept this one pretty plain and simple.

MFT Wednesday Stamp Club

Hello!  It's Wednesday and that means it's time for another fun sketch challenge from MFT!  Here's a look at the sketch:

I made a card using My Favorite Sentiments.

This sketch is so perfect for all of the bold sentiment sets MFT carries, don't you think?  I love this set and used a Valentine looking sentiment for the front of my card.  I stamped it in Kraft Ink on some Love Me 6x6 papers from My Mind's Eye.  I used the Layered Heart Border Die-namics for the little linked hearts and then the Hearts a Plenty Die-namics for the larger hearts on the side.

I stamped a sentiment from Lovey-Dovey Sentiments in Kraft Ink on the inside of my card and added a patterned paper border along the bottom edge.

Sweet Sunday Sketch 175 & 176 Winners

Hi friends!  It's been a crazy weekend, full of birthday parties and then the sickies, ugh!  It finally hit our house and I hope it doesn't stay long.  Gross!  So I'm a little late announcing who will be joining the Sweet Sunday Stampers this coming weekend for our next sketch.  You all make such amazing cards with the sketches and many times I am in awe of the fun twists you add.  So creative!
