We always need birthday cards around here, so I'm trying to get some made and keep a stash handy for the kids to give to friends.  A new school year is coming!

I'm using Birthday Sentiments from MFT for this card and, once again, I stamped the sentiment in two colors.  I can't help myself!  I also added a little row of hearts (from Love's the Ticket) and then scattered some sequins and rhinestones about.  Fun and festive, don't you think?

There is much more inspiration out there for you, so please stop by and see the Sweet Sunday Stampers:

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Splitcoaststampers - Dare to Get Dirty!

Good morning, friends!  I have a fun card for my dear friend Jodi's Dare to Get Dirty challenge.  I can't spill any challenge details here, but you can head on over to the Dare to Get Dirty Forum to find out the scoop.  You will need to be a Splitcoaststampers Fan Club Member to be able to see all the challenges, so if you haven't signed up yet, please do!  There are so many benefits to supporting this fabulous stamping website.  Hope to see you there!

I started with a Grout Gray card stock base and then stamped the Diagonal Stripes background in Grout Gray ink.  I to stamp tone on tone for backgrounds!  I cut out 2 strips of Berrylicious card stock and stamped some Darling Dots on one and placed it underneath the sentiment element.  The sentiment is from Verve's Better Together set and I stamped it in different color inks.  Then I added the little chevron accent underneath.  And of course, I added some bling with sequins for a little pop.

That's it for me today.  I hope you'll stop by the Dare to Get Dirty Forum and play along in more challenges!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Verve Divas Inspiration Hop {August}

Welcome to Verve's August Diva Inspirations Hop. It's the 5th of the month and that means it's time for the Divas to serve up some fresh inspiration with their Verve stamps! Leave some comment love along the hop spots for a chance to win a prize, then grab some stamps and play along with our August inspiration challenge for another chance to win!

Our August challenge is Sequined Stunner:

Sequins are the perfect embellishment - sparkly, affordable and with lots of texture. Add some sequins to your project this month to make it a sequined stunner! Feel free to use the graphic as inspiration or not.

I made a super clean and simple card.  I wanted the sequins to really shine and stand out.

I stamped the little heart from With Love in red ink and then filled in all the sequins, attaching them to the card stock with Glassy Accents.  I stamped the sentiment from the same set in black ink and then added some striped paper along the left side for a little zing.

Need a little inspiration? Check out the blogs linked below to see what the other Divas did with the challenge! It's sure to be a treat, and speaking of treats, we've got a prize for one lucky commenter along the hop! Check out the Verve Blog today for all the prize info and deadlines!

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 230

Good morning!!  It's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!  Want to play along?  Here is the deal: make a card with this layout and use the InLinkz button down at the very end of this post to enter your card. As you may have noticed, I've been a little bit absent here on the old blog.  We had a very busy July and I needed to take a small break from stamping so that I didn't turn into that crazy lady who grows a second head.  You all know what I mean, right?  We took the kids to Disneyland last week and had a fabulous time with lots of adventures - and it went by way too fast.  I'm happy to be home and getting back into some sort of routine again and I will definitely do the happy dance when school starts back up!

On to my card.  Yep!  I have a card this week.  It may not be my best work, but I'm waiting for that mojo to return.  Ha!

I bought a couple new things from My Favorite Things - this is Delicious Birthday.

I broke out my Now & Then "Mildred" paper from MME and picked out some patterns that I loved.  I used some patterned paper to stamp the sentiment on as well and then cut out the little balloon.  I added some hemp cord for the string and pinched it with my fingernails to make it curl a bit.

That is it for me today.  I do hope you will hop around and see all the deliciousness the Sweet Sunday Stampers have to you too!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

recipe -

paper: kraft (mft), now & then "mildred" 6x6 (mme)
