Good morning
- It's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! Here is the
deal: make a card with this layout and use the InLinkz button down at
the very end of this post to enter your card. The links will close on
Friday at 10 PM (Mountain Time), and I'll randomly select one card to
feature on my blog on Saturday. So, as long as your card is linked by
10 PM Friday, your card will be in the drawing. Be sure to link
directly to the blog post or gallery image which features your card.
You may post a picture of the sketch on your blog, but please save the
image to your computer first. Use the keyword SSSC140 if you plan to post your card in an online gallery.
I hope you all have enjoyed your weekend so far! I love those Sundays when you can just put up your feet and relax, and maybe eat a cupcake or two. Here, our house if filled with the sounds of football and wishing the Broncos would win. Just maybe.
I have birthday on the brain, so I made a birthday card. My husband had quite the momentous birthday on Friday. I won't tell you
how old he is, but it starts with a 4 and ends with a 0 - WOW! I can't
give him a hard time about it though because he'll pay me back in a few
months, so I need to behave. haha! I had intended to give this one to him, but changed my mind because I'm thinking it's not very masculine, right?
Anyway... My take on the sketch is pretty crisp and clean - it's just so cheery and I love the way it turned out. Now, this is my 3rd attempt at this sketch, but it was worth it. Once I figured out what I wanted, it came together pretty easily. I started by using the big cupcake bottom from Taylored Expressions' Build a Treat set and stamped it in Colorbox Dark Brown ink on Choice Snow White cardstock. I did mark where I was going to stamp them with a ruler and pencil since I wanted my cupcakes straight (they are spaced about 1 3/8" apart from center to center) and then using rainbow colors of cardstock, I used the Build a Treat Tops & Bottoms die to cut out the topper. I added a few Crystal Twinkles on the top of each cupcake and the sentiment is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black.
The Sweet Sunday Stampers have amazing sketch samples to show you today, so stop on by to see:
