Good morning - It's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! Here is the deal: make a card with this layout and use the Mr. Linky box down at the end of my post to enter your card. On Thursday at 10 PM (Mountain Time), I'll randomly select one card to feature on my blog. So, as long as your card is linked in the Mr. Linky box by 10 PM Thursday, your card will be in the drawing. Be sure to link directly to the blog post or gallery image which features your card. You may post a picture of the sketch on your blog, but please save the image to your computer first. Use the keyword SSSC56 if you plan to post your card in an online gallery.
Did you see the opening ceremonies of the Olympics? I am in awe of the beauty of British Columbia - the contrast of the green grasses against the blue sky, the crisp mountain peaks towering over the coastline, and the marvelous city skyline of Vancouver - WOW! The blues and greens of spring are what inspired this card today - I have this little stamp that has never seen the light of ink in its entire existence, so I thought I'd give it a little love.
The image is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics and I sponged blue and green ink around the edges of the circle for grass and sky. The flower centers have a little Diamond Glaze on them to give a little pop.

Have fun!

ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so glad you got to see the Ceremonies...I live in this beautiful British Columbia...born in North Vancouver, but grew up and am still living 3.5 hours away. It is a breathtaking place :) Hope to play with the sketch this week :)
ReplyDeleteLove this card Karen, that paper pack is one of my faves, must get it out and use it soon!!! Adorable stamp, that frog is toooooo cute!!!
ReplyDeleteFun sketch, Karen :D So glad you love the beauty of British Columbia :D I live in BC and having green all year round is something I truly love (the upside of all the rain we get LOL!)
ReplyDeleteVancouver is a fabulous city and seeing the snow capped mountains, blue ocean and green grass in one scene on a sunny day is truly breathtaking!! You could literally ski half a day and windsurf the other half of the day if you wanted to. Can't wait to head down town and check out the Olympic Torch and some of the free festivities (ticket prices are a bit insane!!)
Your card captures the colours of our city beautifully and that little froggie is too cute!
Love your card Karen! That DSP is a fave of mine. I know the circle was optional, but I went for it anyway. ;o) The challenges with the circles have been very helpful to me by getting me to "step outside of my comfort zone." Thanks so much for doing these every week.
