mother's day

I cannot believe Mother's Day is only 2 days away! Seems like time is just flying by and I can't keep up with it. I made this card for my sweet mother-in-law, it's just sweet and simple and it fits perfectly with her personality. I'm using SC227 for the layout and Dawn's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge for the colors. Now, the colors are dark gray, medium pink, bright pink, and white, but I had to add blue for the vase and green for the leaves. Is this cheating? I think it still works, but it's not really true to the challenge, though, huh? Might have to redo that one... I love this week's sketch though - so fun! I added some Crystal Effects to the water in the vase from Fresh Flowers, to give it a little shine and dimension. I colored the leaves and water with Copics and then I used my Pixie Pink marker for the flower petals. My pink supply of Copics is a little, uh, scarce.
I ordered a photo tent and I cannot believe the difference it made in my photo! If you are curious, I got this one. It completely collapses and all of it can be stored in a little bag about 6" x 9" - ish. Nice huh? This photo was taken with my old camera (it's a Koday Easy Share C875) and I'm going to try it with my new camera too, which is a Nikon Coolpix L100. I haven't had the best luck getting clear images up with that one yet - I'm still learning the settings on it.

That's it for today - I'm not sure I'll get anything made for tomorrow, but I'll definitely be back for Sunday's sketch challenge.

Karen
